Red Tape

Elijah Shepard

My apologies. I had no idea that there would have been such a gap between posts. Lieutenant Umbra and I had been looking into alternative methods of killing the Fears, when we realized that any testing would be nigh on impossible without a test subject. This set off a spark in Nathan's head, as he regained a very important memory. A memory of several entities referred to as "Extension Fears", creatures created by the Fears to act as powerful Subordinates or even children.

Goddamn monsters trying to humanize themselves.

Regardless of my feelings towards them, the concept of the fears having "Children" made me think. And when I think, I don't stop until I find a solution. So here it is: Fear Clones. I mean, if we managed to clone a sheep, pets and (although for ethical reasons, it hasn't been made public) humans, what's stopping us from cloning Fears?

To answer the question, the fact that said entity would be a GODDAMN FEAR. So, I began to think again. And lo and behold, I once again found a solution. Hybrids. We take tissue samples from the two "Parent" Fears, and combine them into a single "child".

Abominations, we've dubbed them.

Now, you may be asking how we'd incubate such an entity, and how we would deal with the ethics behind experimenting on a child?  Simply put, the Abominations are not newly formed entities per say. They are moreso a genetic mutation induced into a human test subject, which gives them similar abilities, personalities and defences as the Fears they were bred from. The perfect test subject.

Naturally, STAB Command threw a fit when we proposed the idea. It took me threatening to leave the organization for them to give us clearance through the sea of Red Tape we faced... I'm glad they know exactly how much of an asset I am. We were given permission to create a single entity, and if testing proved successful we would be given free reign over synthesis experiments. Command was also kind enough to donate the only tissue samples they had on hand; The Rake's, and The Smiling Man's.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet "Wendigo".

The Wendigo is a seven-foot tall Hybrid of the Smiling Man and the Rake. It's defining characteristics are its razor sharp claws, flaking grey flesh, lack of reproductive organs as well as the nose and ears, razor sharp teeth extending to where the ears once were...

And its insatiable desire for human flesh, hence the name. Agent St. Cyr learned this the hard way. On the bright side, his "sacrifice" likely saved our research teams from the same fate. We are hoping further information will come to light after we run a few tests, the most relevant of which we will be posting on this blog. Reports will be prefaced by this Abomination's research designation; AB-01.

Addendum: Yes, I realize that it looks like a so called "Regenerator". No, we are not renaming it.

Addendum 2: Administration kindly requests that the research teams no longer be nicknamed the "Ganados".

Addendum 3: I will personally execute the next person to make a "Resident Evil 4" joke.

Addendum 4: No Umbra, you are not exempt from this rule.
